Guilherme Atan

Guilherme Atan, better known by his artist name ATAN, was born in the early 1990s in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The young artist is part of a long tradition that goes beyond the simple artistic aspect: French calligraphic caricature from the late 18th century, which gradually became more liberal, or Arabic calligraphic arts, which have been admired on an impressive variety of media for centuries.

What sets Guiherme Atan’s work apart is his ability to combine calligraphy and portraiture to capture the essence of a moment, creating an exceptionally profound artistic expression. Thanks to his technical mastery and artistic sensibility, he manages to create both physical and emotional depth using only two apparent dimensions.
